Position:  Lead Software Engineer

Location: remote in Belgium

Employment type: Full-time 

Remuneration: Base salary

REQUIREMENTS:

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor or Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering with strong coding knowledge in VB.NET, C#, C++ or at least one of these programming languages.

•  Should have more than 10 years of experience in software development in the field of Chemical Engineering.

•  Should have strong process engineering fundamentals knowledge while working in the areas of Upstream/Midstream Oil & Gas/LNG/Gas Processing, Refining, Petro-Chemicals, Sustainability, and Hydrocarbon Engineering related areas.

•  Should have hands-on experience in writing extensions or software development for commercially available process engineering flow-sheeting software like UniSim Design, Aspen Hysys, PetroSim, or other similar tools.

•  Should have hands-on experience of using commercially available process engineering flow-sheeting software like UniSim Design, Aspen Hysys, PetroSim, or other similar tools.

•  Should have strong hands-on knowledge of Safety System Design, Rating, and Simulation Products such as Flare, Blowdown (emergency depressurization) & Relief device sizing & rating. Should be able to work as SME (subject matter expert) in a safety-related area.

•  Should be able to contribute in creating a detailed functional specification including equations to be used and strategies for the development of new unit operations, features & functionalities in commercially available process engineering flow-sheeting software.

•  Strong knowledge & experience to guide and mentor software developers who have coding skills however are not chemical engineers.
